MEMBERSHIP
- The following categories of readers shall become members of the University Library TNPESU:
- Regular Undergraduate, Postgraduate Students, M.Phil & Ph.D Scholars Full Time / Part Time.
- Teaching & Non Teaching Staff
- Temporary Teaching Assistants.
- The new members should present a membership application form available in the circulation desk, or they may download the form from the Library website for receiving a new card.
- Applications of students and faculty members of the University Departments shall be recommended by the respective heads of the departments, and applications of other categories shall be recommended by the registrar. The filled-in membership application form along with a recent colour passport size photo shall be submitted to the Circulation Desk Staff.
- The Circulation Desk Staff will update the details of the members in the NIRMALC Membership profile Database software and a registered membership BOID will be generated for each member.
- The registered members will be given a valid barcode membership card.
- The membership card is valid till the completion of the duration of the course or date of retirement.
- Regular research scholars should renew membership if their study extends beyond the prescribed years. For which a written request shall be submitted to the Deputy Librarian duly forwarded by the guide and the heads of the departments concerned
- Members are strictly informed not to lend membership cards to any unauthorised user and requested to maintain the card properly.
- A member who has lost a membership card shall make a written report of the same to the Librarian. An application form for loss of Library Membership Card is available in the Library webpage and in the circulation desk members can either download from Library website or receive the application form in person.
- At the same time he/she may pay a fine amount Rs.50/- has to be paid to this University by a way of challan in to the University Account maintained in Indian Bank, Nallambakkam Branch.
- Upon receiving the application form along with the payment the Librarian will authorize the circulation desk in charge to issue the Duplicate Membership Card to the applicant.
- At the end of the course/superannuation/resignation/transfer of employees, etc. the members should return all books borrowed by him/her and surrender the Library membership card to receive no due certificate.
